Who we are

PaperChaser is a document collection service for professionals. Our website is paperchaser.com.

What information we collect

Account information. When you create a PaperChaser account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and firm name.

Client information.Professionals using PaperChaser may upload client names and email addresses to send document requests. This information is stored in PaperChaser's database and used solely to deliver document request links to the intended recipients.

Uploaded documents.Documents uploaded by clients in response to a professional's request are stored in PaperChaser's secure file storage. Professionals control these files. PaperChaser does not read, analyze, or share them.

Google account data. If you connect your Google Drive to PaperChaser, we store your Google account email address (to identify the connected account) and OAuth access and refresh tokens (to upload files to your Drive on your behalf). We access your Google Drive only to create folders and upload files that you, as the professional, have explicitly accepted. We never read, modify, or delete pre-existing files in your Drive.

Usage data. We collect standard server logs (IP addresses, pages visited, request timestamps) for security and performance monitoring.

How we use your information

  • To provide the PaperChaser service — send request links, store uploaded documents, sync files to Drive
  • To send transactional emails — request notifications and document submission confirmations
  • To display your account information within the app
  • To improve our service through aggregated, anonymized analytics

We do not sell your information. We do not use client-uploaded documents for any purpose other than storing them for your review.

Google API services

PaperChaser's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • We use Google OAuth only to upload files to folders PaperChaser creates in your Drive
  • We do not share Google user data with any third party
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you have given us explicit permission to do so for support purposes, or it is required for security purposes

Data sharing

We share data with the following service providers to operate our service:

  • Supabase (database, file storage, authentication)
  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Resend (transactional email)

We do not share your information with any other third parties except as required by law.

Data retention

  • Account data is retained until you delete your account
  • Uploaded documents are retained until you delete them or your account
  • Google OAuth tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect Google Drive from PaperChaser
  • Transactional email logs are retained for 30 days

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@paperchaser.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage, and access controls. OAuth tokens are stored with row-level security — no user can access another organization's data.

Changes to this policy

We will notify you of material changes to this policy by email or by a notice in the PaperChaser application.
